Holy Shit!!!

From my 2nd favourite website: Fail Blog!!!

Blogs rock mah bollocks

A blogger reviewed Forest Action Team here. Nice.

Monkey: Journey To The West

Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewitt takes a break from Gorillaz and The Good, The Bad & The Queen to collaborate with director Chen Shi-Zheng to create a Chinese opera 'Monkey: Journey To The West'. It sounds damn weird from what I've been streaming. Chinese soprano vocals with synths and IDM glitches.

It's pretty much safe to say that Damon Albarn is truly the most inventive man in rock'n'roll currently. And I don't even like Blur that much. They had some great singles, not too great on the albums bit for me...

Podcast interview

The Lard Brothers became the guinea pigs for a NTU Communication Studies student to try out her interviewing skills. Take a listen if you have some time. It's pretty long. This was recorded halfway through the original interview and was conducted at Weiyuan's home studio.

At the 15th minute, Weiyuan's niece crashed into the room.

Radiohead launches yet another remix contest...

Click click click to download some remixes of 'Reckoner' which is like my favourite tune off In Rainbows and one of my top Radiohead songs ever.

Diplo's remix and Flying Lotus' remix.

"There's a Remix site going up tomorrow for Reckoner here.
To start things off we asked James Holden and Diplo to do their versions.
Now the elements are already being passed around to other artists..
The elements of the song are soon going to be made available to you if you wanna have a go..
If it's anything like the Nude remix site it could get fairly nuts.
We're off to Japan at the weekend.
Thom"

Yup, Thom, I'll see you there...

The Lard Brothers review

This is probably the funniest review which we've gotten. And there was no mention about the music at all.

Ian found it. And all they were talking about was Weiyuan's smoking and his previous job. Hilarious!

Anw, he smokes outside school lol. In school, i can smell his smoky breath.

Really cracked me up...

Cadbury advertisement

That's one fucken emo ape. Got if from Adrian.

Singapore Ink

My boy Noel just got featured in a Malaysian article. He runs a company which does airbrush tattoos and other stuff as well and blogs here. Ann is his missus who runs a diaper cake business. Check out some of her work here.

That's their little rug rat Drayden whom I will personally train to get a 6-pack from the fridge when I go over and visit them. Start 'em young is what I personally believe.

The Lard Brothers live on national radio

We will be heading down to Caldecott Hill and hang out with Zoe Tay and Fann Wong by proxy tomorrow. Catch us live on News Channel 93.8FM here. So good right... Don't even have to switch on the radio. Online can already.

We will be up at 1:45pm with Melanie Oliveiro. I presume Ian will be talking about his favourite bak chor mee stall in Bedok.

Currently, we already have more than 800 downloads. I believe it will go up to more than 1000 thousand. Already plans are being made to release a special Christmas edition of the album where you will hear Weiyuan croak 'Winter Wonderland' as a bonus track. Everything else will be the same but with that one bonus track. Yes, just like those dodgy record labels. Ah...

And you can even give the Christmas edition to your friends as a present!

You: Hey, guess what I got you for Christmas?

Your friend: What?

You: The Lard Brothers' Forest Action Team!!!

Your friend: I've already gotten that as a free download.

You: Yeah, but this is the Christmas edition!

You friend: But it's still free right?!

You: Well, FUCK YOU TOO!!!

MediaCorp has been quite kind to the 3 of us. Starting with Don Bosco showing us immense love for Forest Action Team in his 2 weeks coverage in 8 Days. FHM's Dennis Yin featured us in an interview for this month's issue. And now this. I understand LUSH 99.5FM will be playing some of the tunes as well!

We love MediaCorp. They rock. It helps. of course, that Fiona Xie and Jesseca Liu work there too...

No Heroics

Billy sent me this link to Warren Ellis's blog. Yes, that fooken Warren Ellis.

RIP, Richard "Rick" Wright

Rick Wright, keyboardist of Pink Floyd has passed away. The following is my favourite Pink Floyd tune, along with 'Time'. But this is the one he shared co-lead vocals with Dave Gilmour.

Echoes part 1 (live at Pompeii)

This version I found on YouTube has crappier sound but the full intro. I love this song... Drummer Nick Mason is insane here and looks like a reject from The Village People.

Rock & Rojak

Sujin sent me this.

Pushing Daisies

I love the show! It's like a funny CSI set in a Charlie and The Chocolate Factory setting. Damn psychedelic. And Anna Friel is damn cute. Check out the official site here.

Kanye West - Love Lockdown (live)

A new song.

Metallica - The Unforgiven III

Yes, that's right. 'The Unforgiven III'. When they first released 'The Unforgiven' in 1991, I doubt that they'd ever thought they'll be doing a trilogy. I've no idea how you can even have song sequels. More of the same thing?

The Lard Brothers are still workin' it out...

We got a sterling review from 8 Days for Forest Action Team. Thanks to Don Bosco for his kind words! I'll post the review on our MySpace soon. Interestingly, we are featured in the same issue as Yasminne (we were in the same class back in JC) who does the 10pm - 2am show on 95FM.

Next week, there's a short interview with us on both 8 Days and FHM which I should believe have hit the streets. I love doing men's magazines interviews. So fun! The unabridged versions of the interviews will be up on our MySpace as well.

You can download the album here if you haven't already done so.

The Aging Youth website has been hacked (muthafucka!!!) so I'm providing the direct link here. Hopefully, we can salvage the situation.

Edit: Nat 'reviewed' the album here on her LiveJournal. All I can say is "Thanks!" and "FUCK YOU, NATTO! MIDI ROCKS!".

Ok, thx, pls understand.

Facebook Song from lobak loon on Vimeo.

It had to happen. A song about Facebook.

Chingz and her boys (which includes Sen Kiat for the live shows) will be heading down to perform at the Esplanade on Sun 5 October. I think they should be selling their EP there as well.

Zack And Miri Make A Porno trailer

Looks good to me...

叫我皇帝!!!

Yeah, we all helped out the fucker who's trying to look more regal in the photo. It was pretty fun but rushed. Ko Flow said that he read on some kid's blog that he thought the set was boring. Well, can't fault the kid. Them tweens came down to catch pop punk and we gave them tunes which barely scratched 80BPM.

Shahrinn aka MC Garuda is currently doing some vocals for 'PoniesSoothePeople'. Probably, we'll put that up for download when it's done.

Wooo hooo!!! I can't wait!!!

Radiohead - The Rip (live)

Technically, it's just Thom Yorke and Johnny Greenwood covering Portishead's 'The Rip' on 2 acoustic guitars. One of your favourite bands covering one of your other favourite acts. That's hot.

Here's their cover of Neil Young's 'Tell Me Why'. Well, Thom Yorke sounds like Neil Young. Same whiny voice but more in tune.

1 more month to catch them live! Woot!!!

Jay-Z & Kanye West - Jockin' Jay-Z (live)

I've posted this video before. Here's the song.

Smooth-E

Got it off Chingz' blog. Cute.
